Your Role as a Nurse in a Wesley Senior Living Community 

Today’s nursing professionals have a wide range of talents and skills ready for the field. In a senior living community, your role includes the following:

• Management of Medication – You may be called upon to help residents monitor and manage their pain levels. Additionally, you will help assess the effectiveness of medication and care plans, including side effects and negative prescription interactions.
• Developing and Initiating Care Plans – As part of your resident’s total care, you will assist in developing care plans, administering medication, preparing IVs, monitoring vital signs, drawing blood, and giving injections.
• Interacting with Family Members – A big part of a resident’s wellness is sharing with their loved ones the continually evolving needs and care that is needed. Developing relationships with family aids in giving your residents the best possible care.
• Coordination with External Providers – You will work with your resident’s physician, physical therapist, and other providers to make sure they receive all they require for better health. For example, you may help a resident perform their prescribed exercises in between physical therapy appointments.
